This Privacy Policy explains how Marketing MInds, the owner of BudgeFlow, ABN 44 663 441 695 (“I”, “me”, or “my”) collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal information when you use BudgetFlow and the website at budgetflow.au.
I am committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
By using BudgetFlow, you agree to the collection and use of your information as described in this policy.
1. What information we collect
Account information. When you create or are given an account, I collect your email address and a password. Your password is stored in an encrypted (hashed) form and is not visible to me.
Budgeting information you enter. BudgetFlow stores the information you choose to enter into the app, such as income, expenses, budgets, savings goals, categories, and notes. This is stored so it can sync across your devices.
Payment information. When you purchase BudgetFlow, your payment is processed by a third-party payment provider. I receive confirmation of your purchase and basic order details, but I do not collect or store your full card or bank details.
Website and usage information. When you visit the website, some information is collected automatically through analytics tools, such as your general location, device and browser type, pages viewed, and how you found the site. This is used to understand and improve the site.
Communications. If you contact me for support or any other reason, I collect the information you provide, such as your name, email address, and the content of your message.
2. What I do not collect
BudgetFlow does not ask for, collect, or store your bank login details or connect to your bank accounts. You enter your financial information yourself.
3. How I collect your information
I collect information directly from you when you purchase, create an account, use the app, or contact me. I also collect some website usage information automatically through cookies and analytics tools, as described below.
4. How I use your information
I use your information to:
- provide you with access to BudgetFlow and its features
- store and sync the data you enter across your devices
- process your purchase and manage your access
- provide support and respond to your enquiries
- maintain the security and proper working of the app
- understand and improve the website and the app
- comply with my legal obligations.
I do not sell your personal information. I do not use the budgeting data you enter for advertising.
5. Cookies and analytics
The website uses cookies and similar technologies. Some are necessary for the site and shopping cart to function, and some are used for analytics.
I use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. Google Analytics may set cookies and collect usage information. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings, although some features of the site may not work correctly if you do.
6. Who I share your information with
I do not sell or rent your personal information. I share information only with the third-party services needed to run BudgetFlow, and only to the extent necessary. These include:
- Hosting and data storage / sync provider, used to store your account and budgeting data securely and sync it across your devices.
- Payment provider, used to process your purchase securely.
- Website and store platform, used to run the website and manage orders.
- Analytics provider, used to understand website usage.
Each of these providers handles information under their own terms and privacy practices. I take reasonable steps to use reputable providers.
I may also disclose information where required by law, or to protect my legal rights.
7. Overseas storage and disclosure
Some of the third-party services I use may store or process your information on servers located outside Australia. This means your information may be stored or handled overseas.
Where this occurs, I take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled in a way consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles. By using BudgetFlow, you consent to your information being stored and processed as described.
(Note to the operator: confirm the region your data storage provider uses, and name the country or countries here if you can, for example Australia or the United States, as the Australian Privacy Principles encourage identifying overseas locations where practicable.)
8. Security
I take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification, and disclosure. This includes using reputable providers, encrypted connections, encrypted password storage, and access controls that keep each user’s data private to them.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. While I take reasonable steps to protect your information, I cannot guarantee absolute security. You are also responsible for keeping your account login details secure.
9. Keeping your own copy
BudgetFlow includes an export feature that lets you download a copy of your data at any time. I recommend you keep your own backups. This is your data and you can take a copy whenever you wish.
10. How long I keep your information
I keep your information for as long as your account is active and as long as needed to provide BudgetFlow to you, to comply with my legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce my agreements. If you close your account or ask me to delete your information, I will delete or de-identify it where I am able to and where not required by law to keep it.
11. Accessing and correcting your information
You have the right to ask for access to the personal information I hold about you, and to ask me to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date, or incomplete. Much of your budgeting information can be viewed and corrected directly in the app. For anything else, contact me using the details below and I will respond within a reasonable time.
12. Complaints
If you have a concern or complaint about how your personal information has been handled, please contact me first using the details below, and I will do my best to resolve it.
If you are not satisfied with my response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
13. Children
BudgetFlow is intended for use by people aged 18 and over. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided me with personal information, please contact me and I will take steps to delete it.
14. Overseas users
BudgetFlow is operated from Australia. If you access it from outside Australia, you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with your local laws. Your information will be handled in accordance with this policy and Australian law.
15. Changes to this policy
I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version will always be available on the website, with the “last updated” date shown at the top. Continued use of BudgetFlow after changes are published means you accept the updated policy.
